Amereco Biofuels Corp is the first company in Arizona to turn used cooking oil into biodiesel commercially, and the first whose product is being sold to retail customers.
Western States Petroleum in Phoenix began offering the fuel in mid-October at a retail pump at its main Valley location, 450 S. 15th Ave. in Phoenix. Although Western States has sold biodiesel for several years, the fuel was not produced locally before.
