Florida Biodiesel Project Behind Schedule

Plans to build a biodiesel plant in Fort Myers, Fla., have hit a wall, according to the Fort Myers News-Press.

FL Biofuels partner Roy Benton III said he spent $1 million on a $500,000 federal grant, but the project is over-budget and one year behind schedule.

Benton said his company is waiting for approvals from the federal government, the state fire marshal and Fort Myers city officials.

(The success of the biodiesel fuel industry relies heavily on biodiesel testing <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s32Ke2VzrqU>, not only at the production level but at the consumer level, where degraded fuel may cause engine failures.  Of major concern to diesel and biodiesel users is the very real possibility that water has contaminated their fuel.
