GreenHunter Energy acquires Florida site for biofuels facilities

A GreenHunter Energy Inc. subsidiary acquired a $1-million lease for 22 acres of waterfront property on Florida’s Gulf Coast to construct a biofuels terminaling facility and, eventually, a biodiesel production refinery.
GreenHunter BioFuels LLC, a subsidiary of the Grapevine-based renewable-energy company, acquired the Tampa, Fla., site lease in cash and stock. The company also owns and operates a biodiesel refinery in Houston with an annual production capacity of 105 million gallons-per-year, according to a statement. The Renewable Fuels Campus opened in June.
