Iowa U.S. Senate Demcratic Party candidate Tom Fiegen went against the biofuels grain in the Hawkeye state recently in saying that federal tax incentives for ethanol and biodiesel should be done away with, according to Radio Iowa. "We're subsidizing our ethanol plants to the tune of 45 cents a gallon and yet they're still failing in bankruptcy," Fiegen told Radio Iowa. "VeraSun's plants are now owned by international firms." Candidate Roxanne Conlin said she disagreed with Fiegen's position.
