Novozymes in NC testing process to speed up converting grease into biodiesel for vehicles

PITTSBORO, N.C. (AP) — A Danish company testing better ways to ramp up America's supply of motor fuels derived from plant and animal byproducts is taking a new step in North Carolina.

Novozymes is pairing with Piedmont Biofuels in Pittsboro on a new operation to be unveiled Friday that aims to improve the production of biodiesel. Biodiesel is made from fats and oils and can be used in existing diesel engines without modification.
