One dozen local garbage trucks running on biodiesel, company says

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- A dozen local garbage trucks are now running on used cooking oil. Originally, only two of Alaska Waste's trucks ran on 100 percent biodiesel.

Alaska Waste opened up the state's first commercial-sized biodiesel plant last month. It's designed to produce 250,000 gallons of biodiesel fuel each year after processing used cooking oil from local businesses.
