A Snohomish County, Wash., plan to buy and operate a grain dryer and crusher for area oilseed crop farmers who want to market their crops for biodiesel production hasn't paid off, the Everett Herald in Everett, Wash., said.
The county invested about $1.2 million in the equipment and has been unable to find a full-time operator. Now, the county is expected to operate the equipment itself.
