Argentina Soybean Exports Down, Biodiesel Up

A drought-stricken crop and higher percentage of processed soybeans, led to a sharp drop in Argentina's soybean exports last year.

According to figures from the country's statistics bureau, known as Indec, Argentina shipped just 4.3 million metric tons (mmt) of soybeans in 2009, or 62% less than the previous year's 11.7 mmt.
