FT-0130 / FT-0131 Percent Biodiesel Test
Description
This test identifies biodiesel blends that exceed a certain percentage of biodiesel. The FT-0130 test is intended for use with B5 (5% biodiesel) and will indicate if more than 10% biodiesel is present in the fuel. The FT-0131 test is intended for use with B20 (20% biodiesel) and will indicate if there is more than 30% biodiesel present in the fuel. Incorrect mixing of biodiesel blends is one of the most common causes of fleet downtime since it can cause unexpected filter plugging.
When to use it
This test should be used as an initial screening test for fuel deliveries and for periodic monitoring of fuel quality at the dispenser and storage tanks. It can also be used to screen tactical (emergency) vehicles and generators for the presence of biodiesel fuel. Works for biodiesel blends.
