B20 Biodiesel Diagnostic Test Pack FP-0170
Description
FP-0170 Fuel diagnostic pack for B20 Biodiesel includes four tests:
- Water and Visual Appearance (FT-0100)
- Acid Number test for Biodiesel Blends
- Percent Biodiesel test for B20
- Total Glycerin test
This test is intended for fleet service technicians to use as part of routine vehicle maintenance and repair. The Water and Visual test will detect entrained water as low as 200ppm, well before the water becomes a problem. The Acid Number test is a measure of fuel degradation (one of the more common issues with biodegradable fuels). The Percent Biodiesel test indicates whether the blend ratio (biodiesel / petroleum diesel) exceeds 30%. The Total Glycerin test indicates whether there is any glycerin in the fuel, a potential cause of clogged fitlers.

When to use it
This test pack should be used as an initial screening test for vehicles being serviced - particularly when fuel is a potential issue. It can also be used to screen tactical (emergency) vehicles and generators for the presence of biodiesel fuel.
